2008 membership fees and payment information
APNIC's membership fees are divided into tiers according to the amount of IPv4/IPv6 address space the member wishes to be allocated. Ranging from very small to extra large, members can select the most appropriate tier to suit their needs.
This fee schedule and payment information becomes effective on 1 January 2008. For current information, please refer to the companion Membership fees and payments page.
For answers to some common questions regarding the changes to our fee structure, please refer to the Membership Fee Changes FAQ.

* For members holding both IPv4 and IPv6 address space, the membership tier is assessed separately for IPv4 and IPv6 as above. The member's effective membership tier is then assessed as the larger of these. More details on the membership tiers and benefits to members are available in the APNIC Fee Schedule.
Australian organisations are required to pay the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on all APNIC fees. For further explanation see the Fee Schedule with GST for Australian organisations.
IP resource application fee
A member's first address allocation request is subject to a non-refundable IP resource application fee of AU$3,169.
Subsequent allocations are free of charges.
The following services are exempt from the IP resource application fee:
- Critical infrastructure assignments
- Experimental allocations
- IXP assignments
- AS numbers
- Historical resource transfers
Membership reactivation fee
An organisation whose APNIC membership has been terminated for non-payment of membership fees may be returned to good standing by payment of a "membership reactivation fee" of AU$1,268, in addition to any outstanding unpaid fees. This option is available for a limited period of three months after membership termination, after which time recovered resources are subject to reallocation.
An organisation which does not opt for reactivation of their membership by this means, but wishes to continue using APNIC resources, will need to open a new membership and reapply for all resources required. In this case network renumbering will be necessary.
Non-member fees
Non-member account holders are invoiced according to the number of APNIC resources they have been assigned. There is an additional fee at the time of assignment, plus an ongoing maintenance fee. Both these fees are scaled to the number of resources the non-member account holder is assigned.
| Allocation or assignment service | Unit | Allocation fee (AU$) | Yearly maintenance fee (AU$) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Internet addresses | Host or site address 1 | 1.27 2 | 0.127 |
| Autonomous System numbers | AS number | 634 | 63 |
| Reverse DNS delegations | Reverse DNS domain | 63 | 0 |
| Annual account fee (historical resource maintenance) | Account name | 0 | 127 |
|
1 A host or site address is /32 in IPv4 and /48 in IPv6. 2 The minimum fee for Internet address assignments is AU$10,384. |
